JFK International Air Terminal (JFKIAT)

Services Provided: Airport & Terminal Operations

JFK International Air Terminal LLC (JFKIAT) is the private management company that operates Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Formed as a joint venture involving Royal Schiphol Group, JFKIAT made history in 1996 when it was selected by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to manage Terminal 4—marking the first public-private partnership (P3) for an air terminal in the United States.

The organization manages JFK’s largest terminal, serving over 27 million passengers annually and connecting New York to more than 130 domestic and international destinations across major carriers, including Delta Air Lines. Since opening the updated Terminal 4 facility in 2001 to replace the original International Arrivals Building, JFKIAT has directed continuous multi-billion-dollar expansion projects. These initiatives have expanded gate capacity for widebody aircraft, upgraded security technology, and added premier lounges like the Delta One Lounge.

Beyond airside operations, JFKIAT oversees more than 135,000 square feet of retail and dining space, emphasizing local New York brands and borough-centric experiences alongside flagship international retail offerings. Additionally, Terminal 4 became the first airport terminal in the nation to achieve LEED Gold certification for existing buildings in 2017 and later attained LEED Platinum certification in 2022, underscoring its focus on sustainable and tech-driven airport management.
