The CNC Programmer / Machine Shop Lead plays a key role in overseeing machine shop personnel, machinery, and processes to optimize quality, schedule, and cost. This position is responsible for coordinating and prioritizing production and prototyping tasks, optimizing manufacturing methods, and collaborating with engineering to enhance the manufacturability of designs. The role also involves designing tooling and templates to support various departments and ensuring efficient CNC programming for 3, 4, and 5-axis milling and turning operations.

Compensation:

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • High school diploma or GED (vocational training preferred).
  • 7+ years of industry experience (manufacturing/aerospace experience a plus).
  • Proficiency in CNC programming for 3, 4, and 5-axis milling and turning operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with recent lead or supervisory experience.
  • Commitment to maintaining a positive and respectful attitude with coworkers and management.
  • Strong decision-making abilities and a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
  • Haas Controller experience a plus.
  • SolidWorks experience a plus.
  • Autodesk HSM CAM experience a plus.
  • Model-Based Definition (MBD) experience a plus.
  • Manufacturing Engineering background preferred.
  • Familiarity with AS 9100 standards preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support machinists and assist in overseeing daily machine shop operations.
  • Coordinate and prioritize machine shop activities for production, R&D, and prototyping.
  • Program CNC machines using advanced CAM software and digital design data.
  • Design and produce tools, jigs, and fixtures to support production and engineering needs.
  • Collaborate with engineering to improve manufacturability and process efficiency.
  • Define tooling and fixturing requirements and provide input on tool designs.
  • Prepare cost estimates on tooling and production designs in support of make/buy decisions.
  • Calculate cutting parameters and develop method sheets for setups and machining processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational goals.
  • Perform additional duties as required to meet departmental needs.

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $36 to $42 per hour. This estimated range represents a good faith projection of what we believe is a competitive compensation range for this position. Please understand that the offered salary will be determined based on factors such as the applicant's credentials, experiences, and the specific requirements of the role, as well as potential internal equity and external market considerations.
