To assist the Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator and Safety & Security  Supervisor in the Safety and Security Department to plan and direct the daily safety and security functions to ensure the overall protection of individuals, tenants, and the public relating to regulations imposed by governing authorities.

Compensation:

$22.00 Per Hour

Qualifications & Requirements:


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training, and Experience

• Students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in criminal science or aviation strongly preferred 

Special Requirements

• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain and maintain federally mandated  security clearances required to work at an airport

• Students actively enrolled in a safety and/or security program strongly preferred

• Juniors and seniors preferred

• Ability to work 20-28 hours per week in a 24/7 environment

The physical activities for this position involve: pulling, pushing, and  standing, sitting, stooping, walking, crouching, kneeling, and jumping. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to travel from floor to floor and will be required to travel outside  between buildings in varying outdoor weather conditions. An individual in this position may be required to  lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. The essential sensory and communicative activities include feeling, speaking, hearing, smelling, and vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, color  vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Serves as a liaison in a supporting role to the Operator, Security Operations Center on a shift-to-shift  basis for safety and security matters.
  • Performs daily internal safety and security audits and maintains records on findings/results. 
  • Inspect access control, signage, and barriers for VIP lots, perimeter fencing, and roadways daily. 
  • Perform badge audit on a weekly basis.
  • Audit security contracts on a weekly basis.
  • Perform monthly knife audits/checks.
  • Performs audits on terminal safety and security equipment, as needed.
  • Issues general security instructions to T4 airlines, tenants, and employees.
  • Assists in monitoring the T4 security contracts relating to landside traffic, employee screening, building  posts and goods & services screening on a shift-to-shift basis.
  • Utilize communication platform for sending broadcast and specific safety and security messaging. 
  • May be assigned a specific project or study to complete, collecting data and aggregating said data in  an appropriate manner for presentation purposes.
